Explore a remote working homestead, garden and orchard with hosts who have lived off the grid for 30 years. They have built a home and created systems for heating lighting and electrical power. Your visit can be a general ramble and garden graze through the berry patch or customized to focus on one of the following areas of special interest: growing, processing and using herbs; food preservation; bread baking and woodstove cookery; electricity off the grid; rustic driftwood furniture making. The tour and workshop will last 2 to 3 hours and finish with tea and pastries in the garden. Cost: $100 for up to 4 people.
Available most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
